英語科ネイティブ教員インタビュー

本校には４人の英語ネイティブ教員がおり、英会話だけでなく体育や家庭科などの実技科目を英語で行うクラスがあります。

本日は英語科のクリスティ先生のメッセージをお届けします。インタビューと共にご覧ください。

Hello. This is Christie. I am a native English teacher here at Meguro Nichidai.

(こんにちは、英語科のクリスティです。)

I wish all the students are able to have fun in my class and feel more confident when speaking English. Because of the coronavirus, we weren`t able to have many in-class lessons, so I felt very sad for the students. But since we started coming to school, I hope all the students are happy and feel more comfortable when speaking to me or other native English teachers.

I look forward to talking with all the students, so let`s have a great school year!

皆さんが授業に楽しみながらかつ自信を持って取り組んでくれるといいなと思います。コロナウイルスの拡大によって今年度は多くの授業ができなくなってしまいとても残念です。

ですが皆さんが登校できるようになりとても嬉しいです。私や他のネイティブの先生たちに英語で話しかけている様子を見ると嬉しくなります。全校生徒の皆さんと話せるのを楽しみにしています。そして悔いを残さず学校生活を過ごしてください！

Q. When did you first come to Japan and what was your first impression about Japan?

初めて日本に来たときに感じた日本の第一印象を教えてください。

A. I first came on July, 2018. It was very hot and humid so I was surprised. I had never visited here before but I feel like Japan is a beautiful country.

私は2018年の7月に初めて日本に来ました。想像以上に蒸し暑く驚きました。とても美しい国だと感じました。

Q. What was your first impression of Meguro Nichidai?

目黒日大の第一印象を教えてください。

A. All teachers and students were very welcoming and they seemed very excited to talk to me so I was happy.

全校生徒の皆さんと先生たちがとても温かく出迎えながらたくさん話しかけてくれたことが嬉しかったです。

Q. What is the biggest challenge you have when teaching your students?

授業で1番心がけていることはなんですか？

A. My biggest challenge with teaching my students is finding new ways to motivate them. I realized that many students don`t like　English or they are not confident when speaking, so I always try to find fun ways to teach them.

生徒の皆さんがやる気が出せるよう新しい方法を見つけることです。英語が苦手と感じる子や英語で発言することに自信を持てない生徒をみて常に皆さんが楽しく学べる方法の発見を心がけています。

Q. What do you miss the most about your home country?

母国アメリカの何が1番恋しいなと感じますか？

A. I miss my friends and family the most.

友だちと家族に会いたいなととても思います。
